the origin of batman

by dedrudeli

yesterday, i went to movie and watch batman begin with my mates….christopher nolan’s take on the dark knight’s origins is so different from the previous films that the inevitable cliché about comparing apples and oranges would arise……..forget those wussy things – this is a durian…….and by that, I don’t mean that it stinks, but that it is indeed the king of fruits…….. in this fan’s humble opinion, it is the best of the batman films, spitting on the high camp of the last two outings and respectfully declining to travel the quirky route of tim burton’s beloved contributions…..once again, like in the comics of the 1980s and beyond, this knight is a dark and stormy one……as the title indicates, the film depicts bruce wayne’s quest for justice and his battles against his innermost fears during his early adulthood, and his return to gotham city as its defender…….batman begins juggles a batboat-load of stuff: the origin! the demon ra’s al ghul! the scarecrow!…… crime, rampant corruption and boardroom treachery in gotham!……escaped lunatics in the streets!a plot to destroy the city! old flames and old fears! a devious twist!……………nolan keeps things moving, deftly vaulting from one element of the story to another, until we get to that part of the tale which in more corn-fed times might be labelled “the end ? and the beginning”……..and then perhaps, like me, you will hate that it has to end……….. an A-grade cast without “blockbuster” stars, a script that develops the central character well, and some really cool action sequences are already good enough……… better yet, the movie treats the viewer’s intelligence with respect and maintains a tight grip on its own dignity………wholly rejuvenated franchise, batman!
